Terms and Conditions of Business
The following Terms and Conditions of Business provide the terms on which Hyve GmbH (as defined below) offers accommodation and the corresponding services to its customers (as defined below) and guests (as defined below). By making a booking, the customer agrees with these conditions. The ‘customer’ is the person who makes the booking. The ‘guest’ is therefore the customer and any third party who is invited into the hotel as part of the booking.
The contract enters into force when the customer enquiry is confirmed by Hyve GmbH. Hyve can confirm the reservation in writing at its own discretion. The contracting parties are Hyve GmbH and the customer. If a third party has taken the booking on behalf of the customer (e.g. booking.com, Hostelworld or Expedia), this party is liable for all obligations resulting from the hotel accommodation contract as a joint debtor with the customer and not the hotel, provided it possesses a corresponding declaration from the third party.
Hyve GmbH will use all its endeavours to handle customer enquiries with regard to changes to the booking. If the amendment requests affect dates of arrival and departure, duration of stay, additional services or products, this is always subject to availability and the willingness of the customer to pay additional costs.
If beds are booked in communal rooms, Hyve GmbH will attempt to accommodate individuals on the same booking in the same room but it cannot guarantee this.
The maximum stay duration is 14 consecutive days; however, this may be extended by Hyve GmbH.
- Cancellation conditions
The customer may cancel the booking without incurring additional charges, provided this takes place at least 72 hours before 12.00 noon on the date of arrival. If this is the case, Hyve GmbH will refund any customer payments which have already been paid.
If the customer has paid a reduced price (non-refundable) for their booking, this will not be refundable in the case of cancellation, due to the reduction in price.
If the customer has not provided sufficient information concerning the cancellation or does not arrive before 10.00 p.m. (no show), the booking will be cancelled. In this case, the customer must pay the full cost of the booking.
Hyve GmbH can cancel a booking at any time due to circumstances outside the responsibility of Hyve GmbH. In this case, Hyve GmbH will refund the entire booking amount including all booking fees.
Hyve GmbH can cancel a booking at any time if the payment details provided by the customer are invalid and the customer does not provide any alternatives.
- Group bookings
For group bookings for 12 people or more, it is best to contact us by email so that we can process it on an individual basis at firstname.lastname@example.org. We may refuse any group bookings which are made online if we have not been contacted in advance. Group bookings may require a deposit to be paid and adapted cancellation conditions. Bookings for seven nights or more may also require deposits to be paid and adapted cancellation conditions.
- Your booking is considered to be a group booking if it is for 12 people or more.
- Hyve GmbH will contact the guest after the booking process has been completed.
- Guests must indicate the precise age of all group members (groups younger than 18 years old will only be accepted upon agreement).
- You are obliged to pay the full cost of the booking at least one month prior to arrival.
- Payment delays will result in the reserved rooms being resold.

If you prefer to pay by credit card, you must pay 100% of the total amount. If you select a non-refundable price, you must also pay 100% of the total amount. If you prefer to pay on arrival, you must secure your booking using a credit card. The amount payable for the accommodation must be paid on check-in unless you are instructed otherwise. We accept cash payments in CHF and EUR as well as credit and debit cards. All reservations will be settled in the local currency of CHF based on current international exchange rates.
Extras are not automatically included in the total bill and must be paid separately during your stay (e.g. the mandatory City Tax)
All claims against Hyve GmbH are in principal deemed to be statute-barred one year after the beginning of the general limitation period and dependent on the information having been provided to the civil court.
- House Rules
The House Rules form part of the General Terms and Conditions of Business. Hyve GmbH reserves the right to terminate the accommodation contract without further comment and to forbid the guest access to the building if a guest fails to adhere to the House Rules and refuses to act in accordance with staff instructions. Receiving visitors, bringing in animals, any form of commercial use and the consumption of drugs are strictly forbidden and will lead to expulsion. Services which have already been paid for will not be refunded in such cases.
- Damage clause
By clicking on the selection field, you declare yourself to be in agreement with the Terms and Conditions of Business of Hyve GmbH. You confirm and accept responsibility for any damage caused by you or by any members of your group. Furthermore, you authorise Hyve GmbH to charge your credit card (the same credit card used to secure the booking) for the full amount required to restore the damaged items to their original condition.
The area of jurisdiction is Basle (Switzerland). These Terms and Conditions of Business are governed by the laws of Switzerland.
The invalidity of one or more provisions in no way affects the validity of the remaining provisions. The ineffective provision will be replaced by the regulation which is closest to it in content.
